APPOINTMENTS

Walk-ins are welcome, however appointments are STRONGLY recommended during the entire month of OCTOBER. Those with appointments will be fitted before walk-ins, please be aware wait times can be up to two hours when busy. We reserve the right to refuse service and require that renters trying on costumes arrive in a clean state.

 

CHILDREN

We carry a selection of children's costumes; however we suggest that guardians NOT BRING CHILDREN INTO THE STORE unless the child is being fitted for a costume. Please note there are suggestive pictures and costumes in the store. Children are NOT ALLOWED to try on costumes and accessories ‘for fun’. Children MUST remain with a guardian at all times. Guardians will be responsible for any damage caused and will be asked to leave if the above rules are not followed. Renters 18 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult. Thank you for your consideration & understanding.

 

STORE ETIQUETTE

Please ask for assistance with items on shelves and in drawers. Renters are required to put on wig caps that are provided when hats and wigs are tired on. Sorry, we do NOT have a public washroom.

 

CHANGEROOM ETIQUETTE

No bags or purses allowed. Limit 3 costumes per person at a time. We ask that renters treat the costumes with respect (costumes never go on the ground and shoes must be removed when trying things on). Please do not put costumes back on the rack, staff need to properly re-hang and return costumes to their precise location. Please report any costumes which need mending.

 

COSTUME RENTAL PRICES

Rental fees range from $20-$150. Rental fees include all cleaning costs, HST will be added. All costumes are tagged with the rental price and detail which accessories are included with each particular costume. Any other accessories renters wish to add are an ADDITIONAL fee.

 

Rental Rates:

4 inclusive days (regular rental fee) Ex: $50

7 inclusive days (regular rental fee plus a half) Ex: $50 + $25 = $75

14 inclusive days (double the regular rental fee) Ex: $50 + $50 = $100

Please inquire if longer rental times are needed

 

Additional days are $10 per costume

DURING OCTOBER ADDITIONAL DAYS ARE $20 PER COSTUME

Holiday costues are the FULL rental amount PER day PER costume costumes (Inc: Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter & Christmas).

 

We do not offer discounts for costumes used for less than our 4 day rate.

We do not offer discounts for ‘parts’ of a costume set not taken.

 

PAYMENT

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit & cash. We do not accept personal cheques. ID is required for those paying with credit cards. Please note we have little cash on site as most people pay & secure their deposit with a credit card.

 

DAMAGE DEPOSIT

All rentals require a deposit which amount to the FULL replacement value of each costume and/or accessory. Lost or damaged items will be charged accordingly before the Damage Deposit is returned. This value is determined by Victoria Costumes who takes into account cost of replacement, shipping/handling, duty/taxes and our time. We prefer a Credit Card number for the deposit however cash is also accepted. No charges will be made on credit cards and cash deposits will be returned IN FULL if rentals are returned ON TIME, with ALL accessories and in the CONDITION it was rented.

 

MINIMUM RENTAL

There is a minimum $10 rental per person. During the month of OCTOBER there is a minimum $20 rental per person.

 

RESERVING A COSTUME

To reserve a costume rental fees must be paid in FULL. Renters must initial their invoice confirming they have read, understand & agree with all of Victoria Costumes policies.

  

Reservations can be made over the phone; however, we recommend renters try on the costume(s) first. We REQUIRE an email verifying that renters have read, understand & agree with all of our policies, and give Victoria Costumes written permission to charge their credit card. A reservation will not be made until we have received written confirmation.

 

Please note we do not offer refunds, credits, cancellations, and costume switches during the entire month of OCTOBER. ALL RESERVATIONS ARE FINAL, sorry absolutely no exceptions.

 

CANCELLING A RESERVATION

-There will be a $20 cancellation fee PER costume, for reservations cancelled 21 or more days prior to the pick-up date.

-A credit of 50% of the rental fees will be applied towards the next costume rental for reservations cancelled 5-20 days prior to the pick-up date.

-A credit of 25% of the rental fees will be applied towards the next costume rental for reservations cancelled 0-4 days prior to the pick-up date.

 

Once costumes have left our premises, NO credits will be issued. It is Victoria Costumes strict policy to thoroughly clean all items, even if they are reported as 'not worn'.

 

CANCELLING A HOLIDAY OR OCTOBER COSTUME

We do not offer refunds, credits, cancellations, and costume switches during the entire month of OCTOBER and also on HOLIDAY costumes (Inc: Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter & Christmas). This includes bad weather, cancelled or postponed events, illness, etc...

ALL RESERVATIONS ARE FINAL, sorry absolutely no exceptions.

 

SWITCHING A RESERVED COSTUME

-There will be a $10 fee PER costume for reservations switched 21 or more days prior to the pick-up date.

-A credit of 50% of the rental fees will be applied towards the next costume rental

for reservations switched 5-20 days prior to the pick-up date.

-A credit of 25% of the rental fees will be applied towards the next costume rental for reservations switched 0-4 days prior to the pick-up date.

 

THE PICK UP PROCESS

Please being your invoice.

Please allow approximately 5-10 minutes when picking up your rental.

During OCTOBER approximately 5-20 minutes.

Renters are responsible for thoroughly EXAMINING their costume & accessories for any rips, burns, faulty zippers, etc… and REPORT any and all problems IN WRITING on the Rental Agreement.

 

THE DROP OFF PROCESS

Using the Rental Agreement as a reference, your costume & accessories will be THOUROUGHLY examined. Charges will be made for discrepancies such as rips, burns, stains, broken zippers, etc... (See Rental Agreement for full details).

 

Costumes can ONLY be returned DURING scheduled business hours (see websites CONTACT page). Under no circumstances can costumes be left outside the store or with neighbouring businesses. If the store is unexpectedly closed during our scheduled business hours please call (250-896-0781) to make arrangements.

 

LATE FEES

An agreed upon return date will be determined when costumes are reserved, items returned after these dates REGARDLESS of when the costume is picked up are subject to late fees. Late fees are $10 PER costume PER day.

OCTOBER late fees are $20 PER costume PER day. Holiday rentals are the FULL rental amount PER day PER costume.

 

ADDITIONAL

Costumes may not be dyed, painted, glued, cut or permanently altered without the written permission of Victoria Costumes.

Persons failing to return rented merchandise may be charged with theft under applicable local laws. The renter agrees to pay any and all court and collection costs and attorney's fees associated with late or unreturned costumes or accessories.

Victoria Costumes shall incur no liability to renter for accidents, injuries, or other losses caused directly or indirectly by use of any costume or accessory.

Victoria Costumes reserves the right to deny rental of any costume.
